Translation

*Rough Translation*

How powerless are we against life and death,
Our wills have no role nor does our desire.

What good (is it) if our hearts are detached,
From this world and all its affairs,
But how can any task be accomplished,
If the hearts are not in it, servile, sincere?

The world has never bothered to adhere,
To loyalty, or the departing dear,
Looks like I too must be one of this lot,
And march on quietly to my funeral pyre.

I am leaving this garden of longing and desire,
Like the breeze that silently blows past O 'Zouq',
Caring a hoot for Spring and its joys,
I have had enough of hollow echoes of cheer.
